Personal InjuryA personal injury is a physical injury that your body suffers rather than damage to something you own or your reputation. It also includes injury to a person’s mind or emotions. Often, the physical, mental, or emotional harm is caused by another party. A personal injury does not necessarily have to be inflicted deliberately. However, to pursue a lawsuit, it is typically somebody else’s or another organization’s fault. For example, you may have become injured at work because your employer did not fully adhere to safety standards. Even if they complied with all rules and regulations, it may still be their fault.
Medical MalpracticeWhen people seek medical treatment, they expect a high level of care by someone who has been properly educated in the field, and to feel better after being treated. Unfortunately, it does not always turn out that way, as mistakes happen, even in medical settings. When a doctor, nurse, or other medical professional fails to provide a patient an adequate level of care, both in diagnosing the problem, and in treating it appropriately, and that failure causes harm to the patient, he or she can be held liable for malpractice.
Motor VehicleA car accident lawsuit is a civil action brought by an injured party (the plaintiff) against the person or entity responsible for the crash (the defendant). The lawsuit aims to recover damages, such as medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. The plaintiff files a complaint in court, which lays out all the claims and the court of jurisdiction. The defendant has to answer within a certain time, usually 30 days. Human error is responsible for 94 percent of car crashes. A lawsuit is different from a car accident insurance claim.
Slip and FallIn 2021, a total of 44,686 people died in falls either at home or at work, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Many more people were injured by slipping and falling. A lot of these falls were accidents, but many may have been avoidable but for the negligence of others.

Trucking AccidentsOn average, close to half a million trucking accidents occur every year, with 50,000 resulting in injuries serious enough to require hospitalization. Roughly 4,000 people die every year in trucking accidents. Three factors: inadequate surveillance, driver fatigue and work-related pressure account for 35 percent of all truck accidents. Of utmost concern in recent years is the increasing occurrence of driver fatigue, which could be related to the uptick in online ordering.
So, when an accident occurs, it may have been the truck driver’s fault, but was his employer as much to blame? Pressure to deliver on time can lead to speeding, risk-taking, working too many hours and in general failing to operate his rig safely. If work-related stress was a factor in the accident, the employer can be held liable. Civil Rights & Police MisconductPolice misconduct is also referred to as “police corruption” because both involve the violation of police department rules and regulations. Police misconduct sometimes involves law enforcement officers who violate state and federal laws, as well as the civil rights of the citizens they are sworn to protect. Examples of police misconduct include the excessive use of either physical or deadly force, arresting people based on discrimination, physically or verbally harassing people, or being selective with the laws they enforce.
